The long-running talk show is back at The Hideout. This month's guests:
Friko, novelist Paige Lewis and more to come.
Friko
Chicago-based Friko returns with ‘Something Worth Waiting For’, their anticipated sophomore album. Produced by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton (Angel Olsen, St Vincent), the album embraces a bolder sense of abandon, exploring noise-rock, avant-garde classical & 70s-era symphonic balladry, and themes of transit, transition, loneliness and connection. "It’s heightened, messy and heroic. That kind of big-swinging moment defines Something Worth Waiting For—an album that only a band on Friko’s level of heart and imagination can pull off." —Paste magazine.
Paige Lewis
Paige Lewis is the author of the poetry collection Space Struck and co-editor of Another Last Call: Poems on Addiction and Deliverance. Lewis teaches at the University of Iowa. Canon, Paige's first novel, tells the story of two unlikely heroes who embark on quests to win God’s favor in this outrageously entertaining, profoundly heartfelt novel. It announces an ingenious new voice in the tradition of Chain-Gang All-Stars, No One Is Talking About This and Martyr!
