Outer Minds
Outer Minds
Outer Minds have descended upon a sound that's reflected the last half decade of trudging and persisting, honing their craft into a sleek, moody, and more intense vehicle, tightly locked into its groove, and a perfect sum of it's five unique parts. Escaping the trappings of the mundane minions of psych-peddlers and reverb rookies clouding up the landscape, these five have burst through, and turned into a darker, more ominous machine, sharpening their claws and sawing their infectious melodic mesmerizations into your soul.

Awash with surging melodies and vocal walls so high you can't even see the top, this band is finally getting the double-takes and longing stares they've been deserving for years, pulling in new converts at a steady clip and winning over the wretched simultaneously. The familiar, yet haunting organ interwoven with the 12-string Danelectro vibrations instantly sends chills to all your extremities, and the pulsating rhythm throbs and pummels its way right into oblivion, causing the energy levels at live performances to reach dizzying heights. As they sharpen their sound into a legion of 60s pop/psych textures and nuances normally reserved for the baroque set with their impeccable glockenspiel-laden arrangements, Outer Minds weave a rich web of sound around hypnotic hooks and deliver an impressive performance both live and on record, equally worthy of your immediate attention. With all five integral members serving time in such illustriously diverse bands as Baseball Furies, The Deccas, Black Beauties, Lover!, Functional Blackouts and The Runnies, it's no wonder how well they come together as Outer Minds, breaking through into a higher state of mind and forming a true force in Chicago underground music for years to come.
Killer Moon
Killer Moon
Killer Moon is a psychedelic jam band with classic rock and doomy sludge undertones. Extended instrumentals paired with ambient vocals make Killer Moon a must see for anyone looking to expand their mind and musical horizons.

The band was formed by Jesse Garza and Amaris Aviles in the summer of 2007 in Chicago. The group honed in on their sound for about a year before deciding to take their talents to South Florida to play for former cocaine cowboys and Haitian refugees. Garza and Aviles were in Miami for 2 years playing shows and living under the same roof until the two decided to move back to Chicago on Thanksgiving in 2010.

Upon their return to the Windy City, Killer Moon started playing shows at a break neck pace. In the winter of 2010 the band started jamming with drummer Chis Avgerin and this past summer he became an official member of the group.

Garza, Aviles and Avgerin are now recording their new album, Tunnel Vision, at Engine Studios with producer and musical wizard Sanford Parker.
Moonrises
Moonrises
Moonrises is a prog/punk/psych/free jazz trio from Chicago featuring Plastic Crimewave of longtime spacepunkers Plastic Crimewave Sound, and creator of Drag City's Galactic Zoo Dossier mag on guitar; Ben Billington of free-jazz titans Tiger Hatchery and Wasteland Jazz Unit on drums; and Libby Ramer on keys. Sublime space-outs change to propulsive noise-assaults on a dime, but with pained tunes buried in the muck. Noteable gigs with Indian Jewelry, Man Forever, Puffy Areolas, Cacaw, and Masaki Batoh of Ghost heave earned them a fierce Chicago following, and this is their first major tour.
Underground Symposium
Underground Symposium play a wild, freaky and suitably hirsute sitar laden brand of psychedelia that can move both solemnly like a group of hooded monks toiling in rapt seclusion yet swing wildly like a funky pendulum in a tidal wave. The group features Adam Krakow on sitar (Plastic Crimewave Sound, Hands Of Hydra), fest curator Matthew Ginsberg on bass (ex Dark Fog), and Eric Colin on drums (John's People, ex Civilized Age).
