Anatomy of Habit
"According to the band Anatomy of Habit formed in October 2008, following the dissolution of Animal Law. I first saw them at what I believe was their 1st or 2nd show at a previous free Empty Bottle Monday night. I actually went to see noise experimentalists The Human Quena Orchestra (who are very nice guys by the way) and had no idea who any of the other acts were. I was happily surprised when AoH performed, and without trying to be too hyperbolic I almost could not believe what I was hearing. I think the closest point of comparison I can think of is the Swans, but drawing comparisons to iconic bands aren’t usually a good idea and they are also way more than a mere Swans clone." - blog Idol Threat
Running
Running
The screech. The wail. The slanted-floor nausea. There's not a word for the signature cyclical howling that Chicago's Running have harnessed and tortured into submission. They play with their food before they eat…flay into a terse punk trance, a Kraut-beat psycho riff for ages, mesmerize or terrorize…but invariably they unleash The Sound upon us just when it seems most likely to bring back your lunch. That they've built such a mean, spare, and evil band around such chaos is to our benefit - the circular mayhem alone would be a fascinating stand-alone curiosity - but lucky for us, they've captured their cacophonous, rotten heart in the black glove of blank-stare punk.

Bottomless Pit
If there’s one thing that’s immediately obvious about Bottomless Pit, it’s that these dudes have impeccable musical chemistry. After all, they’ve been making music together for a long time, as guitarists Andy Cohen and Tim Midgett honed their chops in 90s alt-math collective Silkworm. But when drummer Michael Dahlquist suddenly died in 2005, so did that band. Soon after, Bottomless Pit emerged. In a strict sense, then, the group was forged out of sorrow.
