A Scientist Walks into a Bar
A Scientist Walks into a Bar is Chicago's premier science-comedy talk show. Join us at the Hideout the second Tuesday of every month to hear from folks studying everything from dinosaurs to black holes-- grab a drink and come explore with us.
Black Holes
Remember seeing pictures of a black hole in the news this spring? Astrophysicist Tom Crawford from the University of Chicago helped make that happen--he's a member of the team that created the very first image of these massive objects that warp the time-space continuum. We'll talk with Tom about what black holes actually are, why it was supposed to be impossible to get a picture of one, and what would happen if you got sucked in. Join us on June 11th at 6:30pm.
