Void of Sabbath
Void of Sabbath
VOID OF SABBATH, a collective of Chicago’s most adventurous musicians honoring the lineage of Black Sabbath, brings 2018 to a thundering close for a special New Year’s Eve show at the Hideout.

VOID OF SABBATH made its debut in October before a sold-out audience at the Hideout and featured leading players from Califone, Pinebender, Redgrave, Hujo, and The Judy Green.

The band returns to celebrate the new year to come and to mourn the one that falls in its wake.

In honoring the music and timeless themes of Black Sabbath, VOID OF SABBATH gives audiences a cathartic outlet to make sense of the social and political chaos that dominates the current era. Just as the music remains universal, Black Sabbath’s messages involving war profiteers and sinister authoritarianism are as current as the latest news feed. Lead vocalist Angie Mead strips Black Sabbath’s catalog of its male birthright and pushes the music forward with a modern female perspective.

Heavy and defiant, the music of VOID OF SABBATH could be ripped from 1968 or 2018. With big things planned for 2019, the time for the band is always now.
