The Chicago Reader's long-running Secret History of Chicago Music column/strip is thrilled to present this extremely rare reunion by quirky Psych/Prog/Jazz/undescribable band McLuhan! The UIC band named themselves after the media prophet Marshall McLuhan, and recorded only one rare and valuable Lp in 1972 (on Brunswick records, home of the Chi-Lites?!) Members are coming in from many different cities to recreate pieces from the album live for the first time in decades, utilizing video projections from back in the day! Fans of Soft Machine, Zappa, Captain Beefheart, CTA and Gong are in for a real sonic treat with this once-in-a-lifetime performance!
