Recently back from their second tour in Mexico, ESSO prepares a busy year with festival dates across the states as well as their debut tour overseas to Europe this Summer. Performing their signature blend of what critics call "tropical funk dance music," this 9 piece Chicago outfit is supporting their latest release, last year's critically lauded sophomore album "Juntos" on their own independent label Sonic Octopus Records. These guys definitely bring the energy and collaborative spirit to the forefront of their music-party performances. "With all the kinetic energy, welcoming vibe, booty shaking onstage, ESSO is hardly just a band, but a happening." -In the Loop Magazine through music, dance, and collaboration.
Luna Blues Machine
Luna Blues Machine
Based out of Chicago, The Luna Blues Machine fuses acoustic hip-hop with soul, folk, latin and any other genre that moves them. Fronted by sisters Belinda and Maritza Cervantes (mandolin and guitar), LBM stands out as one of the most experimental acoustic music acts working in Chicago today. With the accompaniment of bass and drums, their feel-good rhythms, engaging stories, tight harmonies and charismatic hooks will make you want to getcha self a little luna love.
Jason Brammer
Jason Brammer
Jason Brammer is a visual artist and musician currently living in Chicago. He creates beat driven grooves by looping percussion, electric bass, synthesizers and vocals. His visual work around the city, and notably in ESSO's studio home (IV Labs), is multi-faceted and stunning. Catch his opening polyrhythmic live set onstage.
DJ Moppy
Chicago and Detroit are where Moppy splits his time as a DJ, producer, and event organizer. A natural music enthusiast and co-creator of the Boogie Munsters and CutzOnCutz crew, he recently released a new album LP entitled "The Seen Wonders of the Sea" on Young Heavy Souls and 606 Records. Moppy will be bringing his soul dance party set to the Hideout on vinyl in support of the evening between acts and to close out the night with a solid dance party.
