Soup & Bread TV: People Who Feed People

https://soupandbread.net/

Writer, editor, and Soup & Bread founder Martha Bayne hosts conversations with folks on the front lines of food during the global health crisis. Hear from real people in Chicago and beyond about how they're handling feeding their families, neighbors, and communities during one of the most difficult times to do so. Plus: Recipes!

THIS WEEK'S GUEST: Margaret O'Conor, executive director of the Common Pantry in Roscoe Village

http://www.commonpantry.org/

Margaret O’Conor oversees operations, programming and fundraising efforts for Common Pantry, Chicago's oldest continually operating food pantry. With a small staff and more than 100 volunteers per month, the pantry provides three weekly emergency food distributions, a community lunch once a week, senior home delivery service and a monthly produce day helping thousands of individuals each year facing food insecurity.

She arrived at the pantry after serving as development director of the Greater Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Community Council for three years. She has also served as a volunteer leader in several local organizations including the Chicago Park District, Friends of Amundsen High School, Chase Park Advisory Council and Kmetco and Associates. She has a master’s degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the College of Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM. She lives with her husband, Dan, and three boys in Lincoln Square.
