Formed in summer 2004 in Chicago, IL, by Dan Sullivan (guitar) Rob Sullivan (bass) and Dan MacAdam (guitar) and Bill Murphy (drums) ARRIVER honed a sound that seamlessly blends classic and modern strains of rock, metal, and prog into a vicious hybrid of ass-kickery. ARRIVER released the debut full-length "Vanlandingham and Zone" in 2006 and soon thereafter Bill Murphy left the band, replaced by long time pal and comrade-in-rock Joe Kaplan. With Joe, ARRIVER began pushing tempos and time more aggressively. Vocals evolved to match and what has emerged is a decidedly harder sound, as heard on the "Simon Mann EP". ARRIVER is currently working on their next full-length about the destruction of the Russian Navy at the hands of the Japanese in 1904, tentatively to be released late 2010.

"According to the band Anatomy of Habit formed in October 2008, following the dissolution of Animal Law. I first saw them at what I believe was their 1st or 2nd show at a previous free Empty Bottle Monday night. I actually went to see noise experimentalists The Human Quena Orchestra (who are very nice guys by the way) and had no idea who any of the other acts were. I was happily surprised when AoH performed, and without trying to be too hyperbolic I almost could not believe what I was hearing. I think the closest point of comparison I can think of is the Swans, but drawing comparisons to iconic bands aren’t usually a good idea and they are also way more than a mere Swans clone." - blog Idol Threat
The Swan King
The Swan King formed in 2009 by guitarist/vocalist Dallas Thomas (ex-Asschapel), bassist Jamie Drier (ex-Planes Mistaken For Stars) and Chicago native Zafar Musharraf on drums. When the band began, the trio started writing songs in the Robert Fripp Guitar Craft tuning to help them break out of the old rock comfort zone. They have often been compared to the songwriting of the Wipers mixed with the noisyness of bands on the Amphetamine Reptile label. The Swan King's debut release, "Eyes Like Knives" was recorded with Sanford Parker and is due out this spring on Seventh Rule.
