Warm Ones
Warm Ones
Warm Ones is the brevity that speaks in perfect harmony. Equal parts after-school special, adult film and Polish-style buffet, the Chicago four-piece has been playing violently catchy pop since 2004. Setting the table is drummer Jon Adler and bassist Mike Metz – a take-no-prisoners rhythm section that knows where to put the dessert fork. Guitarist Mike Wszolek specializes in gravy and singer Tony Sackett opens the wine, chugs along on guitar, and gets first dibs on the potato pierogi. Sackett croons, screams and generally hams it up on rapid fire pop songs that are fun, catchy and over with. So, you bring the latkes and they’ll bring the applesauce. Warm Ones are comfort food that won’t go to your ass.

.Chaperone.
Beginning as a moniker for Shaun Paul’s intimate bedroom melodies, Chaperone has swelled into a full-time quintet. A melding of several different eras of music, the Chicago band’s sound is a jangly 21st-century version of yesteryear’s radio rock. Sing-along harmonies and raucous percussion laced over driving bass lines give the group its expansive sound. Their unique songs and impassioned live act have generated a growing buzz in the Midwest with each performance. Chaperone spent much of 2009 recording, writing and fine-tuning their set, but 2010 brought their second visit to SXSW Music festival, infinite touring and an upcoming e.p....thus far.
