Moji & The Midnight Sons
There is an indescribable energy you feel in the presence of a midnight sun; your inner clock is rewired, your body pushes itself to the breaking point, and the bright night convinces you that the possibilities of doing, feeling, and being more are within reach. It is during one of those Icelandic summers that singer Moji Abiola and drummer Frosti Jon first met. In a small whiskey bar in Reykjavík, they bonded over music, specifically their love of soulful, honest, and gutsy blues and rock n roll. They decided then and there to go back to Frosti's place and see what would happen musically.

Fueled by the exchange of personal stories and the emotions exposed by the midnight sun the lyrics to the first song, "Broken Bird" were penned in a few minutes and fit perfectly with an existing track Frosti and guitar player, Bjarni had written. As if the words, melodies and music were made with each other in mind, the half-written story of a heart-sick man was completed while recording the first take. It was a magical moment for Moji and Frosti. A moment that was also being experienced by Bjarni who was upstairs trying to sleep.

It wasnt until nearly three weeks after that fateful night that Bjarni and Moji would finally meet. On an evening in that same room with amps switched on, drums set up, microphone in hand, and windows open to let in the light of the midnight sun the jam session turned into something more. The songs they created were moody, honest, and gritty vignettes spanning genres of blues, rock n roll, and folk.

What started as a chance meeting during an Icelandic summer holiday, turned into a bond blessed by the midnight sun. Moji, Bjarni, and Frosti Jon are Moji & The Midnight Sons.
