Matthäus
Matthäus
MATTHAÜS // is a new project based in Chicago. The idea was to bring a different musical aesthetic and style to venues and audiences with more pop sensibilities. The music strives to be challenging and inviting; visceral and intellectual; grand and humble.

Drawing on a wide range of inspirations from contemporary composers like Steve Reich and Georg Friedrich Haas to pop artists like Bon Iver and the National, the music of Matthäus is at once dark and technical as well as introspective and lyrical. With a focus on unique orchestration, not only is each song an exploration of different sounds and timbres, but each performance features a different group of musicians and instrumentations.

Matthaüs is led by musician and composer Ben Montalbano and is releasing their first EP in March of 2016.
LANE
LANE
Lane is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Chicago, IL.
Sensing that something was missing, Lane wandered aimlessly and unconsciously through space and time until his laptop woke him up. After giving Lane a few minutes to breath and make some coffee, the laptop launched into a concise monologue, outlining the details of a spiritual pact which had taken place while Lane was drifting and which now bound him to the laptop. Lane’s mind, body and soul would join forces with the laptop in order to create sounds and textures that were indicative of Lane’s thoughts and emotions.
Fall Classic
Fall Classic
Fall Classic is a Chicago-based indie-rock band that The Chicago Tribune recently said were “positioned to lose their unheralded status.” While formed in January 2012 by Ryan Jeffrey Smith (Vocals, Guitars), Jonathan Kolar (Bass, Vocals), and Christopher Grandberry (Drums, Vocals), the three have played together in different combinations since college. Their music draws on a myriad of influences, combining sharp harmonies and tasteful hooks with disjointed rhythms and energetic arrangements. They have played venues all across the US and those who’ve seen them describe them as “interesting, but not in, like, that boring way” and “fun, even though maybe I don’t get all that’s going on, you know?” Fall Classic has released three full-length albums, and recently released a collection of five short films, titled BOTH ENDS OF THE ROPE.
