This week is filled with rare appearances by old Hideout friends like Catherine Irwin & Mr. Rudy Day. Cosmic travels for kids and adults alike with the first ever holiday Story Night led by Jon Langford and Martin Billheimer. And a new dance party called RETREAT led by some of the former Life During Wartime crew!
Tonight the Immediate Sound Series presents Starlicker. This power trio is led by Rob Mazurek on cornet,Jason Adasiewicz on vibes, and Johnny Herndon behind the kit.
Thursday we have a fantastic triple bill led by the beautiful voice and songwriting of Ami Saraiya & Outcome. We are pleased to have back the folk troubadours from Portland, Oregon Kory Quinn & the Comrades. Starting off the show is Will Phalen & The Stereo Addicts who will assault us with their blistering pop harmonies.
Friday we are so elated to host what is unfortunately the last Mr. Rudy Day show for quite some time due to band members moving away. Before that that though, Catherine Irwin from Freakwater is coming up from Louisville with a few friends to play songs off her beautiful new album on Thrill Jockey, Little Heater. Starting the show Rachel Ries who is in town to record a new album will be joined by her band and very special guest,David Vandervelde.
Saturday are two shows with Jon Langford and Martin Billheimer’s Story Night presenting, A Child’s Christmas in Space - tales of unspeakable abominations and perversity read aloud in an intimate Gothic setting for this all ages children’s show! Surprise Guests, Christmas Readings, St Tutens in the Field Home for Distressed Gentlefolk Carollers, National Theater of the Hideout present Neil Armstrong conquers the Moon…Songs, Sketches, Outlandish Costumes in the true Panto Tradition…All denominations welcome.
Later that evening is a new dance party called RETREAT which will keep ya’ shaking it all night long!
Tuesday is the final Hideout Holiday Sale of the year. So in case you didn’t make it yesterday, all the amazing artisans will be back hawking their wares for all of your holiday needs.
Later that evening in the front bar is the old-school latin music stylings of Los Hombres Perdidos.
