This Week At The Hideout

Hey Hey Everyone,

Before we get into this week’s shows, we wanted to thank all of you who came out to the Hideout Block Party & A.V. Fest in September, since you helped raise $51,000 for the charities below!

We’ve got an action packed week around here so let’s get into it!

Tonight is an extra special Immediate Sound Series with the extraordinary guitarist Jeff Parker (Tortoise) and a rare appearance by HEAR in NOW which features Mazz Swift on violin, Silvia Bolognesi on double bass, and Tomeka Reid on cello.  Preceding and in-between what are sure to be two amazing sets of music,Lawrence Peters will be behind the turntables spinning various #1 hits from his amazing record collection.

Thursday and Friday we have two SOLD OUT shows with Mike Cooley from the Drive-By Truckers.  This is the first ever tour by Mike performing solo in very intimate environments and we couldn’t be more excited to have him here.  For those of you with tickets, these will be partially seated shows so get here early if you’d like to sit back and relax.  Doors open at 8pm each night.

Saturday is a fantastic hurricane Sandy benefit show with all the proceeds going to Occupy Sandy.  It will be led by the Chicago Afrobeat Project, and also feature DJ WARPDJ SoundcultureByzantine Time Machine (of Lamajamal), and DJ Mwela.

Later Saturday night the dance party will still be going strong into the wee hours of the morning as Chances Dances brings the jams and some special guests to this month’s show which starts at midnight.

Sunday is another hilarious edition of the Kind of Blue Comedy SeriesThis month features headliner, Bill Cruz, along with Kevin Lee, Joe McAdamKatie McVay, and Nate Simmons.

For all you comedy fans out there, we’ve got another amazing lineup for Tomorrow Never Knows ’13 in January with tickets selling swiftly for The Low Times Podcast w/ Tom Scharpling, two shows with Kurt Braunohler and Cameron Esposito, and two shows with the Delocated Variety Hour featuring loads of special guests including Urge Overkill and more to be announced in the coming weeks!  We really hope you can make it out for some of these extra special shows with us in the new year.

Monday features Robbie Fulks with his Jesus Christ Trio w/ Steve Dawson and Dian Christiansen.

Tuesday is another cozy evening in the front bar with the always eclectic Mar Caribe.
