This Week At The Hideout

Hiya Everyone!

Let’s get right into it here this week…

Tonight is an extra special Soup & Bread benefit at 5:00pm to raise funds for our friends Ben Schneider and Sohui Kim at the excellent Brooklyn restaurant The Good Fork, which was devastated by Hurricane Sandy last month.  We’ve lined up some amazing soups from Schwa (!!!), Lula CafeMilk & HoneySwim Cafe, some more delicious soups & tasty treats from Hideout friends and family, and bread from Publican Quality Meats.  There will also be a bake sale and raffle with amazing prizes like the beautiful poster seen above by Kathleen Judge, an autographed Syl Johnson: Complete Mythology box set from The Numero Group, and much much more! Rob Miller from Bloodshot Records and the illustrious Jon Langford will be spinning tunes all night long & please do spread the good word far and wide about this amazing benefit!

Later this evening the Immediate Sound Series presents a stellar double bill featuring The Russ Johnson Quartet with Russ on trumpet, Jason Stein on bass clarinet, Anton Hatwich on bass, and Tim Daisy on drums.  The first set will feature the percussive antics of the Daisy/Rosaly Duo with Tim and Frank both behind their respective kits.  As if that wasn’t enough, Jeff Parker, will be spinning loads of Pete La Roca in-between sets to kick off this holiday weekend!

Saturday we are really looking forward to this killer double bill with Nashville’s garage rawkers Turbo Fruits, making their Hideout debut, and co-headlining with them are one of our favorite local duos White/Mysterywho just got back home from a long tour out west last month!

Later that evening the dance party will be going strong with The Malt Shop DJs bringing you all those sweet soul sounds to help you dance away all those Thanksgiving calories you are sure to take in this week!

Monday has Robbie Fulks performing with an olde favorite of ours, The Hoyle Brothers.

Tuesday starts off strong with the always hilarious God, Sex, & Death Variety Hour with Danny Black and guests galore!

Later that evening is a solo performance by Rick Rizzo of Eleventh Day Dream in the front bar, and rumor has it there may be a surprise guest sitting in so don’t miss out on what is sure to be a memorable show.

Here’s hoping you all have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Cheers,
The Hideout
